Tombow Adhesive Glue Dispenser Refill

Are you into scrap-booking? I had the opportunity to try out the Tombow Adhesive Glue Dispenser and it is great for scrap-booking. It is easy enough for a 4 year old to use.

I used to use the little double sided tape for scrap-booking.  This is much better.  You just roll it on rather than have to peel little backing papers off.

I'm actually giving it to my art teacher buddy.  We have our school wide art show coming up in a couple weeks.  She has to hang art work up for every one of our 500 students and they have to be mounted on background paper.  This is a terribly long process!  She can't use glue to mount the artwork because it will warp the paper and mess up their beautiful pieces.  She usually staples them on because it's the fastest way, but she cringes every time she puts a staple in.  She hates stapling the children's art work.  With the Tombow she can glue them on without the wet mess.  It is acid-free and photo safe as well.

Copy-Kids DVD Review and Giveaway

My kid are picky eaters.  Aren't all kids?  I know that we all need to eat more fruits and vegetables.  When my daughter was younger, she would not eat broccoli (well anything green) until we went to my friends house and she saw my friend's kids eating broccoli.  After seeing her two best friends eating it, she thought it must be yummy.  Broccoli became her favorite vegetable.  We all know peer pressure works so why not use good peer pressure?  This is where Copy-Kids comes into play. It's a DVD for children 6months - 5 years old that shows children eating  different fruits and vegetables.  The kids on this DVD LOVE their fruits and vegetables and they are very cute too.

It is 12 chapters that are 7 minutes each and feature bell pepper, bananas, oranges, carrots, strawberries, avocado, raspberries, tomatoes, apples, broccoli, cucumber, and blueberries.

 My kids had fun identifying the fruit and vegetables the kids were eating.  Sissy decided she didn't want to watch the entire clip for each one, so we watched parts of each one.  It would have been best if I had given them the fruit/vegetable featured while they watched it.

Sissy decided she doesn't like broccoli anymore.  There was raw broccoli at my little Sister's baby shower.  Sissy decided to try it. Normally, it has to be cooked for her to eat it or even attempt to eat it. 

 We had broccoli for dinner tonight and Sissy said she didn't like broccoli.  We reminded her that she used to eat it all the time and asked her to eat it like the kids in the movie.

Now, if I could get Bubby to eat...well anything more than a few bites.  If you have a picky eater, it's worth a try.

Busy, Busy

April has been a very busy month for us.  We have events every weekend and not just one event.  We are double and triple booked most of the time.  We've had to decide what to attend and what to miss.  Yesterday my little sister got married.  I have TONS of pictures to edit.  Here is one of my little girl.

The wedding turned out great.  I still can't believe my little sister is married.  I don't think she's old enough yet.  She's still too little, yet she's 22.

Two month old rocker!

This little girl is a rocker!  She was two months old when I took these pictures of her.  She's such a cutie.

Bug infestation!

We bought butterfly nets from Target for a $1 and the kids set out to find bugs in the backyard. The only problem is they couldn't find any. They found an occasional lizards but they aren't really fast enough to catch them.

We ended up hiding little smurfs (thanks McDonald's) and several other small animal figurines and called them "bugs.". This is better for me anyway. I don't have to deal with live bugs. I decided to buy some real bugs (well real plastic bugs) to hide.




Daddy was mowing the yard so we settled in hiding them in the porch.



They love hiding and finding bugs. It's like Easter everyday, but with bugs not eggs.


Sissy was yelling "hot" and "cold" to Bubby. Don't you just live her fashion sense? She gets that from her Daddy. Eh. Who are we kidding? She probably gets it from me.

Should I let her go to the birthday party in her awesome outfit? One of the birthday boys gave her the shirt so I may just let her. :p

Tantrums...

My husband needed a picture of himself for an article that is being written about him.  He was named the Air Force Association teacher of the year for our County.  I figured if he needed a picture then I may as well set everything up and to go ahead and try to get Easter pictures of my kids.  I like taking pictures, but I think I need to not take pictures of my own kids.  This is what happens just about every sing time...

Yep.  Even she has tantrums.  What age do these stop??  Do they ever?

Old

I've been feeling old lately and I blame it on my students.  I played the song "Reach" by Gloria Estefan and none of them have ever even heard it.  I looked up Gloria Estefan on Youtube and found the video of "Rhythm is Gonna get you" and played it for them.  Not one of them had ever heard of it.  They were shocked that I even listened to that stuff (because it is SO old).

My buddy that teaches next door had mentioned Whoopie Goldberg to a class.  They had no idea who she was talking about.  She started naming off different movies and shows that she's been on.  One wonderful student said "We don't know people of olden times!"

Really?  Whoopie Goldberg olden times?  Oye.

Later that week my daughter's friend said I sounded like her Grandma.  I'm sure she meant that I sounded wise.  Yeah..I'm sure that's what she meant.
