We surprised the kids with a trip to Medieval Times. They were so excited. J asked if there would be dragons. Haha. He was just as excited to see the horses so there was no disappointment over the lack of dragons. We went to an early show and there were not a ton of people which was awesome. We were in the 2nd row behind the VIP folks.
The food was delicious! Just be prepared because it is a LOT of food for the kiddos. Ask for a bag to take home their extras. I just cut off the chicken leg and wing for the little guys and saved the rest. The tomato soap was delicious! See the picture of my pickiest eater drinking it down??! There's even ice cream for dessert (cake for those VIP folks). No utensils except your hands so bring anything you may need. I brought a little plastic disposable set because with 2 in braces I knew they couldn't eat the corn.

Our knight didn't win, but we still loved cheering him on. Oh and he threw a flower to my daughter. She was in heaven. My boys were giddy to see the Falcon fly overhead a few times.
There were also medieval rooms set up to tour. I didn't even realize they were there until we were leaving. It's pretty amazing to get a glimpse at how they lived and did things. There was an 800+year old manual loom to make clothes. The torture room was a bit alarming when you realize people actually used devices like these in the past.

It was so much fun. It is definitely a great family event.
We took the kids to Crayola Experience to see the holiday activities available and they LOVED it. The two split off from the younger two most of the time because they work at different paces. There were so many different activities that it was great for the 3yr olds and the 9 and 12yr old.

Modeling Clay Fun!

As you can probably tell by the pictures, they had a blast. The older two spent more time making molds and naming their own crayons. The little two played with the model magic for awhile. We spent quite a few tokens buying little packs of model magic. My older two were a little disappointed the Adventure lab no longer had tablets to run through the challenges. The challenges are still there, but you do them as you please without a tablet to tell you where to go. With all the activities and the play area you could spend hours in there.

I love that they change the activities up so they aren't the same each time. The kids loved the holiday themes this year. Once again my kids had a great time. They chose a half day instead of a whole day this year. The first day was bring a friend day, so my daughter brought her friend. The twins came to see them off. I'll admit there was complaining the first day about the heat, but it is Florida so that's expected. The heat index was really high too.
The kids are divided into teams (different chosen countries) for the week. The compete against each other for points and the winning team wins the "world cup." They really did have a great time. I love that the coaches are from other countries. This year they both had the same coach and he was from Ireland.
We did have one day canceled due to rain. It rained a majority of the day and the indoors facilities are used by other summer camp kids. Thankfully, I wasn't using camp as childcare while working or I'd have been in a bit of a pickle. As you probably know, I'm a teacher so it was no big deal. They had a make up day on Saturday for any kids that wanted to go.

It really is a great experience for the kids! I'm glad my kids had the opportunity to go.Jennifer Jeanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12237900167457108249noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2616020320509434594.post-53113335066748529482019-02-04T16:10:00.003-05:002019-02-04T16:12:01.227-05:00Challenger International Soccer Camp - Summer This post may be sponsored...

I'm a teacher so you know I can't wait for summertime. It seems so far away, but it will be here before we know it. If you are interested in signing up your child for summer camp, now is the time to look. My kids had the opportunity to go to the international Challenger soccer camp last summer and it was great. They worked HARD. It is FL and it gets hot. My kids learned a ton and want to go back.
We had the opportunity to attend the new Medieval Times show with the kids. We went for the twins 3rd Birthday so they were just at the age of needing a ticket, but barely. It is pretty expensive for newly turned 3yr olds, but I was glad they had their own seat. They would have been okay sitting on my lap and sharing on my plate, but we have two.

Long story short, the kids LOVED it.

The food. I was worried about the food because of my picky twins. They are toddlers for sure. It was ALL delicious to me. Only one didn't eat much of it. The older kids enjoyed most of it too. It was way too much for them, but they ate it. I do wish there were cheaper prices for the kids especially the 3-6 range and less food. We had SO much chicken leftover. Thankfully, we could take it home. I basically used my plate to pile on the stuff I knew the kids wouldn't be able to eat. The food we took home was never touched by the kids so it was like new take out. :P The soup was great, the bread, potato, and corn too. I didn't think the kids would like the soup. 3 out of 4 liked it. I did sneak in a butter knife to cut the corn off the cob for my daughter with braces. I knew she'd be upset if there was something she couldn't eat even if she isn't the biggest corn fan. I also brought a smaller cup for the twins with a lid just to avoid spilling the big cups of water. Our dessert was ice cream. They provided booster seats for the twins which was perfect to help them see better! Just be sure to ask.

The show. I'll admit that I missed some of the story line because...well...kids. It has been many years since we had gone before. I think it was over 5 years ago at the Myrtle Beach location. It's been hard to get out much with the twins. There is now a Queen instead of a King. I won't spoil the story line, but there is still plenty of Knight fighting. The horses and Knight's did great. I may be a little biased, but our Knight, the Red Knight, was the best and he won too. I'm not sure how I'd feel if ours was the "not so nice" Knight. My daughter's favorite was the falcon flying over. That and our Knight came up to the table in front of us so we got to see him up close.
I did tell one that they were pretending. He can get more scared easily, but he was fine. Sissy, 11, and Bubby, 8, enjoyed the show even more. We were all cheering our hearts out. There are additional things you can buy so be prepared if you want glowing and flashing swords etc. We bought the $2 cheering flags for each kid. It was a great experience for all of us. If you are able to spend the money, I recommend trying it out.

We see a great warrant and end up spending more because it's covered. Right? Wrong! In my experience, it's very rare for a company to actually honor their so called warranty. There are so many loopholes they get out of them. Plus I imagine many people (myself included at times) forget we even had a warranty. So...when I actually remember and go through the whole long process of trying to get a warranty covered just to be told "nope not covered" it's very frustrating.

Do you ever have luck with so called warranties? This last one strung me along for 6 months. Yes 6 months asking for info etc just to say nothing is covered.

Next post...the offending companies.

Hint: Don't ever spend extra on a fancy swing set because it has a great warranty over one you can get cheap at Sam's Club. My friend and I bought at the same time and both lasted the same. Mine had a warranty on paper, but not in actuality. She didn't mind throwing hers out because they paid a 3rd kr 4th what we paid.

My kids were able to go to the Challenger Sports Soccer camp for a week and they had a blast. The twins didn't go, but they wore soccer shirts in support. The older 2 said it was hard work, but fun. My kids have not played a sport for several years, so I bet it was pretty tough for them. The last time they played soccer was 2015 when I got pregnant with the twins. The FL heat did get to my daughter the first day and her coach was great with her. She had a bad headache and he called me "straight away" to come get her per her request. It was only about an hour early. Their coaches are from Scotland. The other coach is from Hong Kong.
Even after the first day my son was showing me some of the skills he was learning and I was impressed. They didn't really practice a lot of skills back when the played at the Y. It was mostly recreational and indoors. They are considering joining a team this fall!

I highly recommend this summer camp. They got a jersey, a t-shirt, and a soccer ball that they used throughout the week.
Our summer is mostly over, but there are still some camps available in other areas. If not near you, there's always next summer. It's a great way to get some skills and learn about other cultures. My kids are repeating some typical British phrases which I love.
I got these shoes from Amazon for my daughter as a gift. They are pretty cool. They do run a little big so keep that in mind if you get them. She is still growing though and they do go on so she isn't complaining. I'm 2.5 sizes bigger in shoes than her and I can squeeze my big feet in them. They are too small for me, but they have some stretch and actually felt pretty comfortable even being too small.

My kids LOVE them. ALL of them. The on/off switch is on the back behind the heal. There are several colors and even flashing. Each shoes can be set however you want. As a teacher, I hate light up shoes because I'm always telling kids to turn their shoes off which is something I never imagined. I will say these are pretty cool. I probably won't let my daughter wear them to school though unless it is wacky day or something fun like that, but she loves wearing them everywhere else.

We went to Crayola Experience yesterday and all four of my kids had a blast! We actually went last summer, but my twins were only 1 then and really couldn't do a ton. They loved the play area, but trying to contain them was difficult with their newly acquired skill of running. This year there was much more for them to do.
My twins ran in excitedly yelling "color, color!" They grabbed the first marker coloring area they could find.

My older two kids are 10&7 and right away they settled into the coloring table. I took the twins to the toddler play area which they love. They especially loved the huge light up display like a gigantic lite brite.
We all did drip art and the crayon mold. My twins were so happy about their car and shark crayon. They also enjoyed the chalk and dry erase section where they could write on the walls, floor, characters (puppy was their favorite).
There was plenty to do to keep them busy for hours. Think of it like the ultimate craft day. All those crafts that you are meaning to do at home, but it takes time, you need supplies, the mess, clean up etc may keep you from getting to it. The kids can do any kind of craft or art you can think of. Coloring, markers, crayons, digital art, origami, painting, molding, cutting, etc. My boys threw a tantrum when I finally said we needed to leave the painting section. It's SO hard being 2! The amount of time you will spend all depends on how long your little ones will want to spend on the various projects. My older 2 spent almost an hour coloring their dragon that they took to a computer and brought to life and coloring a dolphin. My twins won't sit still for that long, but they enjoyed the play areas and sat for awhile to paint.

Here is a map of the main area for activities.

I think for the older two the Adventure Lab was one of their favorites. It is new and not listed on the map. It's where the paint palette is listed. You get a tablet and it leads you to three different areas inside to complete a puzzle or mission. They must have completed 3-5 missions each.

Everything inside is included except for the personalized crayons and the model magic. You get 2 tokens with each ticket to spend on the model magic or creating your own crayon label. We even got two coins for the twins who were free because they are under 3. They loved the model magic.

We happened to be there during the Clearwater Marine Aquarium presentation/event. My daughter and son stopped to learn about Otters. They were both given a plush Sea Turtle which was a nice surprise.

I think Crayola Experience is great for kids of all ages. My kids ages 2-10 were quite happy to spend most of the day there. There was plenty to keep them busy. Plus it's a much slower go at your own pace than nearby theme parks. I will say that it is most cost efficient to get a year pass if you live nearby. It's only a few dollars more than the ticket cost.

We took the kids to Crayola Experience last summer and they loved it. I chased after the younger two (1.5yrs old at the time) while my husband took the older 2 to the different stations. They LOVED naming their own crayon. They got to mold their own crayon shapes. There was a huge lite brite type thing that the twins loved. Plus a play area for older kids and younger kids. They had a show and a crayola magic mold section. Lots to do

I found this awesome mini projector on Amazon. I was looking for something small for work and home. For work I already have a mounted projector, but I needed something for occasional use and something portable to take to other classrooms. This one is perfect and was only $69 with Prime shipping. My daughter took it for now until I need it for work. She doesn't have a TV, but we recently gave her an older laptop to use. She loves watching kid shows on Netflix. We hooked this up and now she is watching movies with Bubby like they are at a theater.

It is vey lightweight and easy to plug in and transport. We love it.
Digital Kitchen Scale ReviewThis post may be sponsored or contain affiliate links.

I receive this kitchen scale to review. I have been looking to get a kitchen scale for a while now so this was perfect for us. I will admit I do use it for weighing packages for the mail as well as weighing food. It works great for this double purpose. I have not had any issues with accuracy or else I would be charged more for postage. I've used it for several things. One item was over 4lbs. It was a little hard to see the weight because my box was huge, but this scale isn't meant for that. I love this scale. It's small lightweight and accurate. I can think of lots of uses for it.
It just seemed too overwhelming. It was wished on me more than once and every time I said "No way!" I'm the one that felt guilty when I told a mom that maybe she was pregnant with "one of each" because her son and daughter wanted a boy and a girl. She ended up with twin boys. Twins are not easy, but I'm glad I have my sweet twin boys. Well they aren't always sweet, but twins are a whole new experience that you just don't quite get with singletons. It's double the crazy and double the love. Now, I wish twins on everyone! :)

I've loved seeing twin shirts and decided to make my own. I'm still new at making them and don't sell them, but thought I'd giveaway a set to another twin mom. I have a navy blue 2t shirt set or a red 3t shirt set available to giveaway. I'm willing to negotiate the shirt size etc and design, but they will take a little longer to ship. I can also change the design a bit. Ie Pink dinosaurs for girls. I may be open to a new design as well.
I've been wanting to get a kitchen scale for awhile now. Apparently, eyeing the amount of food you are eating when trying to diet isn't the most effective way. I'm excited to try out this scale, but I'm a little worried about learning how much I am really eating. It will be interesting for sure. I also plan on using it to weigh mail to find correct postage.

We are sad summer was so short this year. Teachers actually went back last week which meant daycare for my kids. That also means packed lunches.
This is a time saver that I've used for years and is much cheaper than buying the frozen pb&j sandwiches in the store.

I make a whole bunch of pb&j sandwiches ahead of time and freeze them. I put a little peanut butter on both pieces of bread to keep the jelly from making it soggy. Put them in Ziploc bags. I spoon out a little jelly on each and then spread them ocer the peanut butter. Place them in the sandwich bag and freeze. So easy. I like to make a full loaf at a time. I even stack 4-5 Sandwhiches and cut them in half at the same time. My kids love them and never complained about them tasting any different.

My friend taught me the heal trick. When using the heal piece put that on the inside so the what part is on the outside. Why didn't I think of that?
You can also do other sandwiches too. Ham and cheese etc. My dauhhter has decided she's over pb&j so i made her salami and cheese. They defrost pretty quick so they are ready by lunch time. All opinions are my own.

I love Groupon. I've tried new places that I may not have known about if it weren't for Groupon and have gotten great deals. With 4 kids now every little bit helps. It's not cheap going out and doing things as a family. I recently found out that Groupon now has Coupons for SO many stores and businesses. I try to remember to look for coupons before I check out somewhere. Now I can check Groupon. I can't tell you how many times I've thought to check for coupons before checking out and saved money on shipping or items I was already going to spend money on.

These are just SOME of the places that have coupons.

School is coming soon (too soon for this teacher) and my kids need new shoes. I was shopping Famous Footwear and got a great deal (buy 1 get one 50% and Free Shipping) on good quality shoes for my kids. I need to buy 4 pairs now! Plus shoes for me. Thank goodness for sales and deals and Groupon Coupons!

I do most of my shopping online because taking 4 kids (twin 18mos olds) is not usually very fun. It starts with trying to find a double cart. Twin Mom problems. If I do go in store I prefer places like Target. Groupon Coupon has 63 Target coupons listed. I don't even think that includes all the cartwheel deals. I love getting amazing deals at Target.

It even has coupons for Amazon! Let's just say. I buy a TON on Amazon. I'm pretty sure we get an Amazon package every week or more. We love Amazon SO much that we even used it while out of town on vacation. We learned they deliver to Amazon lockers and we could pick up items needed (not available in stores close by) near our hotel. It was awesome!

If you are shopping for anything, check out Groupon Coupons before you go or check out to save some $$$.

I'm a need a simple recipe that's very easy to throw together quickly type of cooker. I made low carb cheesecake in my Instant Pot - twice (so no expert here)
First you need this. I've heard you can make meatloaf in this type of pan as well. I haven't tried it yet.
The simplified instructions.

2 - 8oz pks of Cream Cheese - room temp

2 Cups + 2 tablespoons of Swerve - I used confectioners type because that's what I had.
1/2 tsp Vanilla extract

3 Eggs Room Temp

1/4 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream

Prepare pan - line inside of pan with parchment paper keep from leaking (I didn't do this the first time and it was fine). Put foil on the bottom of the outside of the pan (I did do this the first time). Lightly grease inside.

Mix Cream Cheese, Vanilla, Swerve, and Whipping Cream. Add eggs one at a time and mix just enough - don't over beat.

Pour mixture into pan. Lay a paper towel on top not touching the mixture and cover with foil.

Put 1.5 cups of water in pot. Put in the metal steamer rack. Place pan on top. Some people create a "sling" with foil to help pull it out. I did for the 2nd and not the first. It didn't seem much easier with. Place pan on top.

Set Instant Pot to Manual 38min High Pressure. When done let pressure release on it's own (natural pressure release) for 18min.

Refrigerate for 8-24 hours.

I put sugar free caramel and cool whip on top. SO good!

If you don't have an instant pot, I have this one. I got it on sale during Prime Day which is coming up on July 11, 2017 this year.
I had heard lots of people talk about them and had no idea what the big deal was. I use my crockpot when I can because being a working Mom is tough. When the twins were little the after school hours to bedtime were TOUGH. The big kids needed to get homework, dinner, and baths done. The babies were cranky and exhausted and wanted 100% attention each. I got the Instant Pot and I'm realizing there is SO much that can be done with it. The meat tastes better than crockpot meat. It's so fast too. I've only made a small fraction of what you can in it.

I got this one on Prime Day last year.

Prime Day is coming up again. I wonder if it will be on sale again or maybe the Duoplus.

I highly recommend getting and instant pot for everyone especially working moms with kids or anyone with a family. I'm on a Facebook group where people share recipes and foods made with their IP. It's amazing. They even take it on vacation when they are at a place with no kitchen.

I've made various meats (beef, chicken, pork, etc) and I even made Cheesecake. I'm going to start trying the Keto diet and made LowCarb Cheese Cake. It is SO good.

I went from being a mom to 1 girl and 1 boy to 3 boys and 1 girl, so now I consider myself mostly a boy mom. My daughter is growing out of the doll stage, but she has had plenty of dolls in the past. I love the creative play with doll playing. Now I have lots of boys. I have no issues with boys playing with baby dolls. Actually, I love it. I can get a glimpse of the daddy they may grow up to be.

I saw these awesome dolls which are great for boys.

Most little children (that I know at least) prefer dolls like themselves. My daughter would always pick out a little girl doll. My son would want a boy doll. These are the cutest little boy dolls. They even come with matching dress up clothes for the child to wear. It has a superhero cape and and mask There should be accessory packs (ie new outfits) coming soon.

My twins aren't quite big enough, but my son will love this. I'm sure the twins will love matching dolls when they are bigger. These are soft and perfect for snuggling with in bed too. I know lots of twin moms with Boy/Girl twins and these would be perfect for the boys when the girls get dolls like most girls do. Plus some girls actually want a boy doll in their collections!

Disclosure: I was not asked to blog about these. I just thought they were awesome to share. I will be reimbursed for my purchase.

I'm not a big soup eater, but it was delicious.

We were challenged to upcycle the container it came in. I'm not very crafty...well I don't think I am. I tend (try) to be more practical.
At work as an Elementary music teacher, I was looking for small bins or containers to organize my treasure box. I remembered I had my little chicken soup container. Nothing fancy, but it works perfectly to hold my treasure box erasers.

I was going to use it to store snacks for my twins. I decided I wouldn't recommend it for storing food because the container has a hole in the lid to release steam. It's perfect for bringing home our take out food (who wants soggy foos), but not so much for storing food. It will either spill out or get stale. We live where it is very humid.
It's great to have a yummy dinner and more organization at work.
